Soon, thousands of volleyball players will descend upon Southern California to participate in the Women’s National Volleyball Association’s Combine.  This event will signify the official launching of this highly anticipated pro sports league. Athletes will lay everything on the line as they compete for a spot on one of the 8-startup WNVA teams. In addition to coaches and trainers, the WNVA owners and executives will all be on hand during the evaluation of the athletes.

Athletes that are eligible for the combine will receive invitations to attend. A limited number of walk-ons will be allowed to tryout but these athletes must contact WNVA offices before such time so that accommodations can be made.  The WNVA staff will oversee the tryouts. A separate event will be held to announce the athletes that make the draft for the inaugural season of the WNVA.

PLEASE NOTE: Check the Women’s National Volleyball website regularly for dates and information regarding the upcoming combine.

  2. J says:

I would think the smartest city locations are those with the top attendance average for NCAA teams…

    2009 National Attendance

    School Avg.
    1. Hawai’i 6,423
    2. Nebraska 4,959
    3. Wisconsin 4,000
    4. Minnesota 3,816
    5. Washington 3,363
    6. Penn State 3,291
    7. Texas 3,035
    8. Wichita State 2,892
    9. Iowa State 2,734
    10. Florida 2,606

(Hawaii might be tough due to travel expenses however…) Being as I am from Chicago I would love to see a team there, but I also remember when they tried that for the USPV back in 2001 or so the attendance was shocking low
